Some moments come only once. I press the shutter so they stay a little longer.

How is shooting for HoNQ different from ordinary photography?

Normally I shoot because something looks beautiful. With HoNQ, I shoot because something feels true.

Someone is telling the story of their life — they do not pose, do not arrange themselves. They laugh when glad, fall silent when it weighs on them. I have only one job — to press the shutter at the right moment, so that instant is not lost.

Beauty can be shot again. Truth comes only once.

Is there a moment you will always remember?

There was one interview. The person spoke about their mother — up to the part where she passed. They stopped mid-sentence and looked out the window for quite a while.

I did not press the shutter. Not because I was too slow — but because in that moment it felt wrong to.

After that day I understood: being a photographer for HoNQ is not about taking the most photos. It is about knowing when to put the camera down.

What do you hope people feel when they see your photos?

I do not hope they see “a beautiful photo.”

I hope they pause one second longer. Long enough to look into the eyes of the person in the frame and think — ah, this person has a whole life I never knew.

If they manage that one second, the photo has done its work.
