Doan Nguyen Thang — 12A1
The equation of gratitude

Behind the radiant smiles and the honored certificates lies a will that does not falter before challenge — a faith raised on aspiration and on a deep regard for the people around him.
Doan Nguyen Thang, class 12A1, finished the high school graduation exam with a total of 36.75: Math 9.75, Literature 7.75, a perfect 10 in Physics, and Chemistry 9.25.
A science student’s secret
“You have to study the theory thoroughly, grasp the root and branch of what you are learning, understand its essence — only then is it easy to organize the lesson,” Thang shares. “There is no better way to train your reflexes and problem-solving than to work through a great many exercises yourself.”
And something just as important: “You must give yourself time to rest and play, to relieve the pressure — eat well and sleep enough, for health and a clear mind.”
The equation of gratitude
Asked whom he is most grateful to, Thang laughs:
“This seems like a hard problem. I suppose this “inequality” has no solution.”
“To me, everyone around me, everyone who walked alongside me, is someone who helped me become who I am today. I feel deeply grateful — how fortunate I am to have been born and raised in a good environment and to have met so many good people.”
